There are 6 columns in the spreadsheet for the content analysis I'm doing on our music therapy research journals since 1964: (1) type of article; (2) key words; (3) type of data; (4) product words; (5) process words; and (6) notes.
There are 306 lines. Three-hundred and six! That's for 51 articles from 5 different decades of the Journal of Music Therapy, and 51 from 8 years of Music Therapy, the journal of the former American Association for Music Therapy.
Despite the tedium of database entry, I'm beginning to see patterns and trends and contradictions to common wisdom, so I know the research is worthwhile. I'm also getting very familiar with the history of my profession's research.
And I'm snacking on carrots! (Friends will recognize this for the wonder it is.)
Back to work. Line 143.
